Custom Settings - Form Payment Name on 'App Settings' tab in the 'Settings' (cog button at the bottom left corner of the side bar) defines how the payment name (name on card) is handled.
When 'AUTOCOMPLETE Payment Name from details page' is ON, payment name (=name on card) is auto populated by taking the donor's name added to the form on the first page. This is to save time of typing the same name twice considering that the name on card is the same as their name.
Auto-populated payment name can be editted before the submission of the form.
You can also turn this off deliberately to let your staff type the similar name twice on the form. You will be able to find mistypes by comparing the two - similar to letting people to add email addresses twice.
When 'On Payment Name MISMATCH, ask reasons' is ON, fundraisers will see mismatch options like below on the form when donor's name and name on card do not match:
Fundraisers can select a reason why the names do not match when there is a reason why they should NOT match.
If there is no reasonable reason why the names should be different but the above options are shown, it means that there is a typo. Fundraiser can go back to the payment name field and fix the typo.
When 'Other' is selected from the above options, a free text field will appear where fundraisers can explain freely about why the names should not match (e.g. account belongs to donor's company).
These little features are ensuring the quality of data and fast communication between fundraisers and admin staff.
